Mexican chilli chicken wrap

This chicken wrap is always loved by my children and is very easy to make. It is healthy and tasty and the best thing is that it is quite versatile. Just change the seasonings and it can be enjoyed differently every time.

For cooking the mince chicken

  1. Heat olive oil in the pan on medium flame.
  2. Add mince chicken, salt and Mexican spice mix. Drizzle some water.
  3. Saute till the pink colour goes away completely. Break the lumps to check if the mince chicken is not raw from within.

For assembling the wrap

  1. Heat the tortilla bread slightly on the tava/griddle.
  2. Spread it on a flat surface or a plate. Drizzle mayonnaise around on one side.
  3. Now pour the cooked mince chicken evenly in one line passing through the centre of the wrap.
  4. Top the chicken with chopped tomatoes and lettuce.
  5. Drizzle hot peri - peri sauce. Sprinkle some pepper powder and salt if required.
  6. Roll it with or without a paper napkin and enjoy it as a snack or meal with some chilled juices.

  • This wrap can be made by using different variety of wrap bases available in the market.
  • We can always give it a twist with changing the spice mix to cook the mince chicken. For example to give it an Indian flavor the Mexican spice mix can be replaced by tandoori chicken masala or chaat masala.
  • It can be eaten fresh or can be packed in lunch boxes for later use.
